§ 2.6.4.: The lure must be made of a light hare skin about 40 cm long, or of a similar material. If the weather is rainy or humid, a plastic or cloth lure can be used.

at nearly every coursing i visited during the last three years the lure was made of plastic stripes … nothing similar to hare skin. some clubs hide a piece of fur under the plastic stripes but in most cases the hounds hunt colourful plastic even at sunny weather.

some figures – coursing EM oirschot/NL

what most of us are looking for is “the longevity” in our breed. some breeders count every month of their breeding dogs and some are like sundials, “only counting the sunny hours”. sport, that’s told us, is healthy and brings us longevity. is it true?
